Cook is an amazing athlete but his blocking is very suspect and he might have to make to switch to WR
I think the best option in terms of spending money etc is to go with Burress and a draft pick (either Britt or Nicks). However its most likely that Burress may miss a significant amount of time, even if he gets acquited from the charges against him, so my next option would be to sign Boldin, and still draft a WR. We have 3 picks in the first 2 rounds, so we can work something out. This way, we have Boldin as our #1, Britt/Nicks #2, and Smith #3. Smith has played the #3 role great, and I think he fits great in that spot, so I would not want to ruin it.
I'm cool with the draft, but you guys do know the Giants history as far as drafting receivers, yes?
It's not so good.
I hear you joe... if you keep posting, they will come, haha.
There is also the message board that I'm basically the only Giants member of.
Oh man... hard question.
Here is an order...
1. Plax back no jail time (hopefully)... I forgive
2. I can sell myself on Boldin or Edwards... I believe Edwards is better than last year and he is bigger and younger and has more upside than Boldin. I like Boldin a lot also as a player. It's a toss up, but I lean towards the unknown upside and size in Edwards.
3. The draft is a beautiful thing, but we ar built to win now! I don't know that we will get enough help this year.
4. Holt would be a decent plug I suppose. I was high in him at first but that died off.
5. Nothing - We are still a damn good team, but without someone to command some double coverage I feel like our offense running and passing will not reach it's potential.
Ask me again tomorrow and I may say something different. Everyone talks about his bricks for hands, but the thought of Edwards get me the most excited.
