2009 Breakout Star Candidate #3: Brian Kehl

Candidate #3:  Brian Kehl (LB)

2008’s fourth round pick Brian Kehl is the next player that I see having a much bigger rule this coming season. Kehl is an athletic and cerebral player that has a nice frame for the position. He received limited snaps in his first year but made plays when given the opertunity (ie Vikings game: 9 tackles and a sack). Look for Kehl to challenge Danny Clark for the starting SAM position. If he can crack the starting lineup the Giants will has some nice speed and athleticism on the field with Kehl and Boley in the outside.

2009 Projections:

  • Tackles – 65
  • Sacks – 1
  • Deflections – 3
  • Forced Fumble – 1

It would be great if Kehl could step up and take the staring role from Clark.

I’m really curious to see what we do in the draft at LB.

I agree…Kehl is def not being noticed but has great potential. I can see him stripping Clark’s SAM position. If so see a much more bigger rotation between them…I want to see more of Kehl.
