I don't buy it, any more than I buy multi-millionaire movie stars getting DUIs. All of this stems from dopes not being able to wrap their intellects around a relatively simple risk analysis. What do I want to do or feel the need to do, what are the possible outcomes, what are the probabilities each will occur, and what is the severity of the consequences for each if they do occur? People do it every day as second nature... some much, much better than others. Plax: "I need protection... options... bring a concealed gun, hire a professional body guard, hang with fellow NFL players, etc... gun outcome could be arrested, could be shoot myself, could be shoot somebody else... low probability on each but certainly possible... if it does occur, I could get suspended from the NFL, I could go to jail, etc. Body guard... let's see... body guard could start trouble, could shoot someone, could shoot me, etc... probability low... severity of outcome... low on me unless the professional shoots me or my teammates. Ok... I'll go with the body guard... no... wait... the gun! Your choice Plax... this is a free country... you're free to make your own choices, and you're free to experience the consequences of those choices... good or bad. You're a moron... an incredibly gifted athlete moron. Life's tough on morons.
