The Giants looked nice against the ‘Skins last Sunday and I think they carry that over to this Sunday. Dallas, it seemed, had trouble disposing of a bush-league Bucs squad last week before they pulled away in the second half.
Eli will keep his stellar play into the second week, throwing for about 235 yards and a pair of scores. The running game will get back on track, as Jacobs tallies around 90 yards and Bradshaw will break the century mark to go with a TD. Manningham will show up and notch about 130 yards and grab both of Eli’s TD throws. The D-Front will make life hectic for Romo and the secondary will not let up.
All in all, I think the Giants put away them Cowboys and move to 2-0 in the division…The Iggs will fall to $hit-Stain and the ‘Aints, 24-13. Kolb will look like trash and Jeff Garcia will come in to make it (somewhat) respectable. Elsewhere in the NFC East, Washington takes care of the Rams, 17-6, at home. If the ‘Skins can’t handle the Rams in DC, then feel free to write them off this season.
Upset of the week:
49ers over Seahawks. I know it’s technically not an upset because the Niners are favored, but I really think San Fran could be a contender this season. They took care of the defending NFC champs last week and Singeltary is the man. Granted, having a coach who is the man doesn’t always equate to wins, but I think the team rallies behind him. Plus, if they somehow get Crabtree into action then they’ll be even more of a lock to take that garbage division.

Normally I’d be comfortable with this Giants win at Dallas prediction, but tomorrow night ought to be a circus atmosphere in that brand new stadium for Jerry and 105,000 of his closest friends. Eli and his offense must show discipline by not letting the crowd noise affect execution, specifically illegal motion and false start penalties. They ought to have been practicing with ear plugs in this week, and/or cranked up the volume on the biggest loud speakers they could find during indoor practice. Jerry specifically targeted the Giants for this opening game in their new stadium of stadiums, seeking revenge on their painful 2007 exit from the playoffs after sweeping the Gmen during the regular season. If the Giants can ignore all distractions and just play their game of football… pound the rock, move the chains with Smith, force the secondary up then take a shot downfield to Manningham and Hixon now and then on 2nd and short, they’ll be hanging around until the final drive that wins it. If Romo strikes first with the big play and Eli can’t respond, then the Cowboys score again, the inspired crowd will get after and stay after them. The Giants D-line will do ok against the run and put pressure on Romo regardless. Webster and Thomas will do a nice job over all, but the banged up Safeties won’t get it done this week and end up allowing a few big plays… just accept it. Michael Boley must step up and shut down the TE play, thereby removing a prime weapon for Romo. This should be close… but even with all the injuries, it’s certainly winnable.
Umm..the NFC West is a garbage division?
Seattle appears to be very good, and the cardinals went to the super bowl last year..why does everyone dog on the division so much?

Dump downs to Whitten & Barber negate the pass rush. Giants settle for 3 in the red [green] zone too often.
Horrible calls [roughing the pass, pass interference, unnecessary roughness]give Cowpies extra first downs. Giants D-line wears down without Canty & Alford, depleted secondary gets burned.
They should have gotten a traffic cone instead of Michael Boley. He has done nothing except get a face mask penalty. Defensive line has done nothing. Offensive line has done less then nothing. Lawrence Tynes can’t kick-off but then he can’t kick field goals either. Coughlin has mastered the beffudled look on the sidelines.
