G-Men lose a tough one

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Eli looked like shit, the running game didn’t do much and the defense was OK. BUT WHO CARES? THE YANKEES ARE GOING TO THE WORLD SERIES!!!!!!!!!
Again, sorry for steering away from the G-Men, but it’s early in the season and they’re still atop the division.
However, if the Giants don’t step it up next week they could be in some serious trouble. In Philly for a 1:00 p.m. start, with the Yanks facing the Phils later that night right across the street in a World Series game. Holy shit. What a great rivalry day. Let’s hope it goes in favor [...]

Prediction for Sunday

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

G-Men 23, Cards 17
I don’t think the Giants cover the 7 points they’re giving, but I think they definitely pull out the W. Big Blue will be looking to bounce back after the Taints debacle, and this team’s too good to lie down. The Giants D will hold up (especially if Boldin doesn’t play) and Jacobs and Ward will expose Arizona’s D. Also, don’t be surprised if (the real) Steve Smith has a huge game.
Go G-Men!!!!!!

*Sorry to steer away from the G-Men but: Good luck to the New York Yankees in Game 6 of the ALCS tonight!!!

G-Men need to bounce back

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

After that debacle in the Big Easy last week, the Giants need to regroup and figure out a way to thwart the Cards on Sunday.
Arizona has got one of the best run defenses in the league and one of the worst pass defenses. That could be a problem for the G-Men if Eli isn’t on his game. Giants Stadium is always a tough place to play with the swirling winds, but I think the D will hold old-man-Warner in check regardless.
“On Wednesday, you want to put the last game behind you and get ready for the next week,” Eli said [...]

You can’t win ‘em all

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

The Giants got beat Sunday. Plain and simple. No excuses, they just got outplayed. A 48-27 thrashing at the hands of the Saints.
Big Blue gave up 315 total yards in the first half alone. Manning looked like shit and the running game couldn’t get going. Aside from a few plays here and there, the G-Men looked like trash. The secondary got beat up like a red-headed stepchild and the outcome was never in doubt. The Saints had their way with the Giants and it reminded me of the Cell Phone Game with Joe Horn a few years back. That sucked.
I [...]

Tyree signs with Ravens

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 5 Comments

Former G-Men Super Bowl hero David Tyree has signed with the Baltimore Ravens. I’m glad he found a team that wanted him and I hope he stays healthy enough to contribute. However, it’s going to be weird seeing him in a Ravens jersey, especially since I loathe that organization. But I guess, at least, he didn’t sign with Philly.
I hope he has fun playing with unibrow and the murderer.

Eli says heel is fine

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Eli Manning said he didn’t tweak his heel in Sunday’s drubbing of the Raiders. Thank God. That’s a weight off my shoulders. If the rest of the team can get healthy they’ll be in good shape.

Now the G-Men enter the tough portion of their schedule. Sunday should be a good test for them. The unbeaten Saints against the unbeaten Giants in Nawleans. Shit stain vs. the mouth breather. Shockey vs. his former team. I can’t wait. Big Blue is going to run through that city like Katrina. (too soon?)

44-7

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Holy Christ. That was complete domination. Eli didn’t even have to play, and I kind of wish he didn’t.
Yeah, he went 8-of-10 for 173 yards and 2 scores in less than a half, but at what price? I want him healthy as the team opens up the “regular” season next week against the Taints. At Saints, hosting the Cards, at Philly and home against the Chargers are the next 4 games  before the bye week. That’s a tall order, and it doesn’t get any easier for Big Blue after the bye. If Eli tweaked his foot at all Sunday it [...]

Eli questionable for Sunday

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: None Yet

Eli (heel) was back at practice on Friday but is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game. I’m not too concerned about this, I think David Carr can hold it down against the silver and black. However, if Eli doesn’t get better by next week for the Taints I’ll be $hitting a brick.
Furthermore, Danny Ware (elbow) is also questionable. He hasn’t played since Week 1 and I’m excited for the chance to see him.
Bradshaw (ankle, foot), Hixon (knee), Rich Seubert (shoulder), Clint Sintim (groin) and Tuck (shoulder) are listed as probable.
Kevin Boss (ankle) is doubtful while Chris Canty (calf), Bryan Kehl [...]

Manning out of practice for second straight day

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Eli was held out of practice for the second consecutive day Thursday due to his foot injury. His streak of 82 straight starts (incl. playoffs) is in jeopardy, but the team’s record of four straight wins is not.
Even if Eli doesn’t play on Sunday, I have a good feeling Carr can do the job against the Raiders. It’s the F’ing Raiders; one of the most dysfunctional organizations in the league. Plus, they’re playing without McFadden. If the G-Men can’t beat them, I’d be shocked.

Boley out a month, other stuff happening too

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: None Yet

Linebacker Michael Boley is expected to miss a month of action after undergoing knee surgery to repair a partially torn meniscus in his right knee on Tuesday. In addition, LB Bryan Kehl underwent surgery for a fractured left index finger and is listed as week-to-week. Also, apparently TE Kevin Boss was limping on Monday and Bradshaw again had a protective boot on his right foot.
However, there was some good news on Tuesday. Lawrence Tynes just isn’t cutting it anymore and when asked if the team is bringing any other kickers in to work out, Coughlin, sporting a $hit-eating grin, replied, [...]
