Urge to kill rising…

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: None Yet

That was one of the worst games I’ve seen the G-Men play in recent memory, their last two T-Day games have been debacles. I guess that’s what happens when you play on three days’ rest two time zones away. Why wouldn’t the NFL give the G-Men their bye before this week instead of having it two weeks ago and then playing on short rest? I hate you Roger Goodell.
Regardless of excuses, the O-line looked like trash, the running game was non-existant and the D couldn’t hold for $hit. I don’t know if the Broncos were extremely fired up or the G-Men [...]

A revenge game for Super Bowl XXI

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: None Yet

These two teams have alternated wins and losses the past five meetings, and the Giants won the last time out so history says the Broncos will win. However, if Orton is still hurt they don’t have a chance. Which brings up an interesting point: if Neck Beard doesn’t play then Chris Simms will get the nod. That will be weird seeing a Simms start AGAINST the Giants. Bizarre.

The G-Men are making their first appearance on Thanksgiving since 1992, when they got lit up by the Cowboys, 30-3. Remember that, remember when the Cowboys were relevant? Me neither.
Brandon Jacobs, who left last week’s [...]

A running diary for Sunday’s game

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: None Yet

With all due respect to Bill Simmons, here is a running diary I kept for Sunday’s Giants-Falcons game:
12:45 pm – ”Hey, Michael Turner isn’t playing today; the G-Men shouldn’t have a problem with this game,” I said while watching the pregame show.
12:55 – DEAD ON impression of Jim Rome by Frank Caliendo in the pregame show. Wow. If you didn’t see it, please go and youtube it. All of his impressions are great, but Frankie really nailed Rome’s habits and pretentious mannerisms. Bravo Frank; I just wish I could stop seeing your failed tv show’s commercials in my nightmares.
1:05 – That first Jacobs run was pretty good; [...]

Best. Bye week. Ever.

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Fresh off the greatest bye week in the history of the NFL, the Giants have a chance to repair what was thought to be a broken season. Don’t get me wrong they still head into this Falcons tilt on a four-game slide, but after the Iggs and Cowboys both lost on Sunday things are looking up in the NFC East.
Cowgirls: 6-3, Iggs: 5-4, G-Men: 5-4, Foreskins: 3-6. I’ll take that at this point, but imagine if the Giants didn’t lose the last four games…
Dallas looked like absolute dog shit, might I add. Green Bay should have put up a goose egg in that one. If [...]

Giants: Season not doomed

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Despite a piss-poor showing the past four weeks, the G-Men are not convinced their season is doomed. That makes one of us.
“We’ve learned from the past years it’s really the most important to be playing your best at the end of the season,” Eli said. “We have put ourselves in somewhat of a bind . . . it’s not a bind, we’re not in the exact position we want to be at 5-4, but it’s not an awful position. We got a chance. We got to have a great second half of the season.”
Not a bind? Damn right it’s not a [...]

I’m trying to find ways to cope, but I aint f’ing around with the gauge or a rope

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 9 Comments

Pardon the outdated Cypress Hill quote as the title, but how can you not score on 1st-and-goal from the four?
The Giants lost a heartbreaking game to the Chargers on Sunday, 21-20, in pre-2007 fashion. I thought these days were over for Big Blue; I guess old habits die hard.
Had the G-Men not had to settle for that field goal, the team would be heading to their bye week with a 6-3 record. Instead, thanks in large part to Chris Snee’s holding call, the club is 5-4. Thank God for the Redskins, if not for them the Giants would be the [...]

G-Men need to beat Chargers

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

After surrendering 112 points over their last three games (all losses), the Giants need to step up and beat the Chargers. If the D that played in Philly last week shows up you can chalk this up as a loss. This week is huge for the team, it’s a chance for them to redeem themselves a bit heading to the bye.
If the G-Men can bounce back from that shellacking the Iggs put on them last week, the team might be able to gain some momentum and pull some Super Bowl XLII-style stuff. Lest we forget that stomping the Vikes put [...]

Yuck

AUTHOR: Andrew Corselli | IN: Giants | COMMENTS: 7 Comments

There’s no other word in the English language that describes today’s game better than yuck.

Eli, for the most part, looked like shit. That last interception looked like he was trying to give it to the Iggs.
The defense couldn’t stop the Iggs, and the secondary was amatuer at best.
What the hell was with Hixon on the kickoff to open the second half.
Why did they give Jacobs so many carries in the first half while not giving Bradshaw anything. If it was because of his foot injury, he shouldn’t have been active for the game.
It was a tale of two halves, as [...]
