I’m trying to find ways to cope, but I aint f’ing around with the gauge or a rope

Pardon the outdated Cypress Hill quote as the title, but how can you not score on 1st-and-goal from the four?

The Giants lost a heartbreaking game to the Chargers on Sunday, 21-20, in pre-2007 fashion. I thought these days were over for Big Blue; I guess old habits die hard.

Had the G-Men not had to settle for that field goal, the team would be heading to their bye week with a 6-3 record. Instead, thanks in large part to Chris Snee’s holding call, the club is 5-4. Thank God for the Redskins, if not for them the Giants would be the A-Hole of the NFC East.

Hey, Im a huge jagoff!

Hey, I'm a huge jagoff!

Despite the outcome, there were a lot of positives I took from that game.

  • The team looked like shit early on, but did show some signs of life. They seemed to pick it up in the second half.
  • The secondary also had some good plays, but were also burned on a lot of plays (See: final SD score, among others, and any Corey Webster play).
  • Boss is a warrior. He took that diesel hit in the second quarter and came back to haul in that 4th-quarter score. He’s going to be nice.
  • Eli looked like a bastard in the first quarter, but came back to have a good day: 25-of-33 for 215 yards and two scores. At points he looked like a chicken running around without its head, but he sacked up and had a good day. I liked what I saw from him.
  • The D made some solid plays and looked good, but they kind of gave up on the last drive. They were on point for most of the second half.
  • Corey Webster should be buried under the new stadium. Give him the Jimmy Hoffa treatment. That guy sucks; how many times does he have to get burned before he gets his ass waived? I know the secondary is banged up, but damn show some heart C-Web!!!! I don’t care what you did during 18-1, it’s 2009 and you better step it the fuck up.
I, too, am a huge jagoff!!!

The run defense was great, holding the Bolts to 34 yards. However, the passing defense was nowhere to be found (for the most part)…Coughlin should have gotten Bradshaw involved earlier. Why give Jacobs so many touches?…What the fuck is going on with this team? They better get their collective heads on straight during the bye.

Boy, Im lucky I won the Super Bowl a couple of years ago. Otherwise my ass would have been shipped out of town by now.

That was a crushing loss. PLEASE get better G-Men, I can’t watch this shit all season long.

huh…..agreed this was a crushing loss but what are you talking about with giving Bradshaw more touches. He was completely ineffective while Jacobs was averaging 6 yards per carry. They should have stuck with the run but more with the big guy. Also Webster didnt have a poor game but this guy doesnt suck. Since our safeties are so bad they have to single up Webster on the oppositions best receiver. Jackson is basically a top 5 receiver in the league.

Webster isn’t as bad as I made him out to be, I shouldn’t have said that about him. It was just emotions after that loss. That being said, he did look like trash against the Eagles and had a couple of botched plays Sunday…among others. It isn’t completely his fault as the secondary is dinged up, but he needs to step up.

I disagree about the Jacobs/Bradshaw thing. I think that if Bradshaw got involved earlier it could have been a different outcome. Though I have nothing against Jacobs (he’s clearly the better back, no question), I think Ahmad needs to get involved more.

Regardless, the team needs to get their act together during the bye and come back strong to beat the Falcons on the 22nd.

The G-Men did look better as that game went on, so that’s something to build on. I just hope they don’t lay down over the second half of the season. Watching the Giants lose is painful.

If Coughlin doesn’t think Jacobs can get a yard on 4th down then get a new back, a new line or a new line coach. I’m tired of Coughlin, Mister tough- guy is always Mr. Chicken in a game. The shine is off the Super Bowl ring buster.

Tynes is a liability, kickers are a dime a dozen.

I find is amazing that the Chargers can pass 40 times, the Giants blitz on nearly every attempt with pro-bowl linemen & there isn’t a single solitary holding call, NOT ONE! San Diego must have the best O -line EVER! The one that backs got 34 yards behind in 15 carry’s, that O-line.

The failure to take a shot in the end-zone & settle for 3 is unconscionable. This is what happens when you don’t put teams away. You nearly did it in KC & you did it today. Playing not to lose never works.

    GiantsCauseway,
I couldn’t agree more. Coughlin better get his head out of his ass, and soon might I add. There’s no excuse for not getting to paydirt on that last drive. Period. If you want to be a playoff (let alone a Super Bowl) team you have to get 7 there. You get a TD there and the game is over and done with; no last-second heroics from Phil. A TD there means the team is 6-3 and right in the mix in the NFC East…Now I don’t know what they are.

Tom Coughlin made Norv Turner look like a coaching guru. That is so pathetic, excuse me while I hang myself.

Furthermore, I agree Tynes is a bunghole and they should get rid of him. No doubt. However, I don’t necessarily think kickers are a dime a dozen…just ask Mike Vanderjagt. But you’re right, something needs to be done about Tynes. People seem to forget he almost cost the G-Men that NFC Championship game against the Packers. Granted he eventually won it, but not without giving me (and probably a lot of others) a heart attack.

I agree with all the analysis, but Jacobs got the ball 11 times and averaged 6 and change a carry. Bradshaw 14 and only 39 yards. Jacobs needs the ball more… about 20-22 times and start wearing down defenses. I’m sick of Kildrive hitting the panic button and going to the deep pass and this stupid erratic shit when one run doesn’t work. Eli is a 21-27 pass attempt kind of qb who manages games. IDK where Gilbride gets his Tom Brady label for Eli from but it’s not working. RUN THE DAMN BALL and hit some quick slants.

Sorry, I’m just biased because I’ve got Bradshaw on my fantasy team.
