Ah yes, the draft is only 22 days away, and rumors continue to build that the Giants are targeting C.J. Spiller in Round 1 (there is even talk that the Giants are among the teams who have spoken with the Raiders about moving up to pick number 8 in Round 1) and formal visits are being arranged (yes, Giants fans can breathe a collective sigh of relief to know that middle linebacker, Rolando McClain, is scheduled to meet the Giants for a private workout). What does this all mean? Three weeks before the draft offers as much certainty [...]

A Giant Wednesday for Us All
Trouble continues to brew in the PA for both the Iggles and the Steelers, both involving star quarterbacks, however, the similarities stop there.
For the Iggles, the hot rumor is that Al Davis and the Raiders are in the driver’s seat to acquire the 33 years old future Hall of Fame quarterback; apparently, Al Davis is not scared away from the Iggles demand for compensation (thought to be, at a minimum, the Raider’s 2nd round draft pick (No. 39 overall) and Al is not discouraged about McNabb’s pending free agency or future contract demands (I’ll give Al credit on this one, [...]
Giant Monday Musings
Happy Blue Monday to you all!
As we are less than a month from the NFL Draft (beginning on Thursday, April 22, 2010), rumors are swirling and we have the scoop.
In Round 1, most Giant thoughts have centered on Rolando McClain and whether he will fall into Jerry Reese’s lap at pick number 15 (and this makes sense given the Giants gaping hole at middle linebacker with the release of long-time leader, Antonio Pierce).
Fresh today is the rumor that both the Dolphins and the Giants are looking to move up into the bottom half of the [...]
With rumors swirling that the Iggles are shopping QB Donovan McNabb, not so subtly, which I am sure Donovan appreciates, we are taking a closer look at Donovan over the years (against the Giants) to start the discussion about how this affects the G-men. Regardless, have we ever seen a team so desperate to deal a future hall of fame quarterback coming off of a good season? Strange to say the least, the Iggles seem more than ready to hand over the keys to Kevin Kolb, have at it Andy Reid, the G-men do not object.
In [...]
My grandfather used to say, “Smile and the whole world smiles with you.” Well, it look like Osi Umeniyora is smiling (while at this week’s first off-season’s voluntary workouts) and Giants fans are smiling back. “Osi Watch” is officially over, though we reserve the right to once again keep an eye on Osi and his moods (I know, he is a little moody, but what are you are gonna do, right?).
The reality is that if the Giants pass rush (and defense) is going to impact games positively, Osi has to play bigger in 2010 than he did while [...]
On Tuesday afternoon, Jerry Reese was interviewed by Tim Ryan and NFL.com’s Pat Kirwan (on Sirius NFL Radio); Reese touched on a few of the hot button topics but Giants fans may not have liked what they heard.
“Osi Watch” 2010 continues, but Jerry Reese is apparently pretty confident that for all of Osi’s griping and complaining that he needs to know he will be a starter in 2010, Reese is somewhat dismissive of this potential problem, calling it ‘off-season chatter.’
Now, to be fair, both Jerry Reese and Tom Coughlin have met face to face with Osi, but [...]
MOCK DRAFT 2.0
The dust has cleared from the combine and the first wave of free agency, time to see who is going where and why. Let us kknow your comments, objections, youe life story, and your future ambitions, thanks! Enjoy and stay blue!
1. St. Louis (1-15): QB Sam Bradford: QB is a huge need, the Rams are stuck in re-building mode, and the defensive tackle position can be fortified later in the draft. If Bradford’s should checks out, as anticipated, he will be a Ram.
2. Detroit (2-14): DT Ndamukong Suh: Boy do the Lions have options (and needs). Jim [...]
Happy Monday morning to you all, before we post our 2nd mock draft of the 2010 off-season, let’s take a look at what the experts are saying (I hate calling any of these gentleman experts, though I do respect their work, let’s not call anyone an expert when we are talking about the NFL draft other than perhaps, Mike Mayock of nfl.com) about the Giants and who might be available in Round One at pick no. 15.
Cnnsi.com (Don Banks) 3-16-10: Giants select ILB Rolando McClain
NFL.com (Bucky Brooks) 3-18-10: Giants select OLB Sean Weatherspoon

Bond, Jy Bond
Ok, so not exactly earth shattering news, but as a follow up to our coverage of the Feagles v. Giants contract dispute, we bring you Bond, Jy Bond, an Australian Rules Football Player (I have been waiting patiently to talk about Australian Rules Football in this blog). Bond was signed by the G-men after working out for the Giants brass yesterday. Bond is not exactly the cure to the Giants defensive woes and don’t read too much into the signing of Bond as it relates to the ageless Jeff Feagles.
All indications are that Feagles and the Giants will [...]
Giant March Madness
Though March Madness is about to take top priority in most of our lives (no, I do not feel the least bit guilty spending most of the work day watching games on-line), there is still Giants news to hash through.
Mike Garafalo of nj.com is reporting that the Giants and long-time punter Jeff Feagles are engaged in a bit of a contract standoff. Feagles, through his agent, has said that he definitely plans on returning for another season (Feagles is 44 years of age and showed a signs of decline towards the end of last year), and all indications are [...]
