Agreed my friend, I do believe the rumors that the Giants are somewhat enamored with Spiller, in the unlikely event he falls down to no. 15…Jerry Reese will have options, including trade down options, and still will be able to add a quality talent.

Reese has done a good job at drafting, I have confidence he will pick well. While Mike is a need, I think Reese will not blindly pick a linebacker. If there is a unique talent at 15, he will consider pulling the trigger.

You speak for the Giant masses on this one, I am still not sold on McClain as a great fit for Perry’s 4-3 defense, though I think McClain will be a hell of a player and better than many picked before him this year. For my money, I see Jerry either trading down from no. 15 and grabbing Sean Weatherspoon (with an eye towards putting Spoon in the middle) or targeting Sean Lee in round two, who I deem to be a perfect fit for Big Blue.

Your point is well taken, if the Giants defense does not return to form in 2010, then the G-men might be in for a lot of high scoring games, not really Tom Coughlin’s style of football.
that being said, I think the Giants are enamored with Spiller and might pull the trigger at no. 15; I don’t think it makes sense to give up draft picks to move up for him, if Spiller went in round one, then I would think defense would be the priority the rest of the way.

Spiller? No way! Giants had their worst defense in 60 years and don’t have a middle linebacker also need help on the defensive line and have not only not signed a single free agent for the front 7 but Pierce and Robbins are both not there anymore either. If Spiller who will go in the first round or Sam Bradford are available at #15 the Giants would NOT take either – Giants need defense!

Totally agree on McNabb vs. Kolb. The Giants are 4-10 (including playoffs) against McNabb since ’01.
