Wednesday’s Giants Headlines

The top of the roster might be good enough to take the Giants deep into the playoffs. But it is the bottom of the roster that will determine if the Giants put themselves in position to get that far.

Darren Sharper is gone from Minnesota, which is no small thing considering he has four career interceptions vs. Eli Manning – two that he returned for TDs. But he isn’t the only Viking who has given Manning fits over the years. Minnesota seems to bring out his worst.

Look at what happened Sunday. Derek Hagan, cut by the Giants in training camp and re-signed on Nov. 16, had seven catches for 65 yards. Devin Thomas, waived by two teams this season, blocked a punt, downed another at the 5 and had a huge special-teams tackle.
