I understand that. LB, OLB and DE's typically rack up more sack stats than the inside guys. The rhetorical question is posed to Sapp to refute his on camera statements that Osi is in fact "soft." Bringing up Osi's stats in comparison to Sapp's is for the sole intention of pointing out that if Osi's 60 sacks is "soft" then Sapp is like Cottonelle.

There is nothing about my article that is racist. As usual we find another Eagles fan s-t-r-e-t-c-h-i-n-g to make some off-kiltered point. The debate about what McCoy can do/has done is not the point and a debate that was beaten to death already. You're a little late. These aren't the Thursday Whammies. A little reading goes a LONG way. Making the point that the Filthadelphia Eagles had a good ten year run, then slamming our QB who put on the GREATEST Super Bowl win of all time within that same time frame shows how completely moot your point is. Better luck next time.

McCoy IS a good player -- I don't think anyone is really disputing that he's good. In fact one of my favorite unbiases stats sites pro football focus had the Eagles as the #1 rushing team in the league due to Vick and McCoys accomplishments running the ball from scrimmage. McCoy is a good all around player that fits well into Reids version of a west coast offense. He has some accomplishments, even against the Giants -- but he is way out of line calling Osi soft and denegrating Umenyiora's accomplishments, particularly against the Eagles in recent memory. Didn't Osi rack up 8 or 9 sacks in one game the year they went on to win the championship? Didn't he set a record for forced fumbles in a season last year? Wasn't he tied with Tuck, one of the most respected DEs in the NFL for sacks last year? Doesn't sound too soft to me....

I remember the play vividly. Great call by Reid.... great execution by the Eagles, poor awareness and extremely horrible execution by the Giants defense on that play. Sickening.

Warren Sapp played Defensive Tackle. Osi Umenyiora plays defensive end. Anyone who knows anything about football, knows that interior linemen will not rack up the types of sack totals that a defensive end will. I can't stand Sapp but comparing sack totals from two different positions is irrelevant.

First of all I find your 'Sean' comment slightly racist. Second of all while i understand the Giants RB's are very talented McCoy put up over 7yards per carry against your defense last your with your '3rd best in the NFL DL'. Your defense also helped you so much when you were up 21 points with 7:28 in the fourth last year. McCoy put up a decent 1,600 total yards last season (not bad for his first full yr starting, so please feel free to call him lady gaga). I don't think he needs to worry about running the ball as much as you need to worry about him running the ball. But since your brought up we are loud when we have a decent season but quiet in others, if you look over the past 10 yrs the eagles have been consistently a good team where the giants haven't made the playoffs in the past 2. so instead of worrying so much about what we are saying maybe your should motivate your team to do better and have Eli man up a bit.

What I am saying is that putting a player down for having a breakout season in his second year in the league and his first as the feature back is a pretty dumb argument.

Did you seriously just claim that total yards from scrimmage is not a stat and is silly? LeSean McCoy was 14th in the league in receptions last year with 77 which lead all RBs by a wide margin. His value as a RB is not solely running between the tackles, but includes his skills in the passing game which is important in the Eagles pass happy offense. He's 4-0 against the Giants in his 2 year pro career so I can't fault the kid for calling it how he sees it.

the thrust of the article is certainly not about running backs.... its about defensive end Osi Umenyiora.

Dudes a beast, everyone EXCEPT McCoy knows it. Record setting sacks in against the Eagles in 2007 dwarfs the idiocy of Sapps 2009 comment that involves the entire defense. The record setting forced fumbles from last year only prove what a 100% osi can do when he's turned loose in a better defensive scheme than bill "vanilla" sheridan's 2009 defense was capable of. is it a coincidence Osi called him out before the season even began?

HELL NO.... a certain pro bowl caliber DE didnt feel his best talents were being utilized by dropping back into coverage quite so consistently.

I'm waiting for Philly to bring up Spagnuolo if ANYTHING is going to legitimize the Eagles in terms of building a talent. Jim Johnson and Spags are sorely missed down in center city philly, ga run teed.

It's really swell of you to care about the reader. Yet again, it needs to be said that nowhere in this article does it state that McCoy is not a "top talent" running back. It says he was not in the TOP TEN. The facts in this article are just that...FACTS. McCoy has only had ONE successful season. Whether or not he will "continue to have success" remains to be seen. RB's often find themselves with short lived careers. I wouldn't go immortalizing McCoy's name just yet. Your comments are purely speculative.

There really has been a consistent message to my posts which is that I feel that you have significantly underrated McCoy via extended name calling and slanted comparisons to Bradshaw. However, I feel the conversation beginning to circle around itself. Perhaps my use of the word "talentless" is of a stronger flavor than a word you would use. But I do think now that we finally are both on the same page as to the point of the conversation. My point is, and always has been (reread previous posts if you doubt me) LeSean McCoy is a stronger caliber of player than the facts presented in the article lead one to believe. I have already stated that I do not condone McCoy's off the field behavior. The only point I've been trying to make throughout the duration of this conversation is that McCoy is a top-talent running back who has had and wll continue to have success in the NFL. Yes, superbowl titles are an accomplishment, yes Osi has proven himself to be a good player, the point here is LeSean has proven himself more than capable as well. So, to reitterate, the entire point of starting this conversation was to point out that the facts used in this article in reference to McCoy serve to mislead the reader as to the actual level of LeSean's talent.

You are really all over the place with this conversation. But at least you are closer to the original point. McCoy has NEVER been called or implied to be a "talentless running back." However, I do find your choice of words, as they pertain to McCoy, quite interesting. Your observations of Osi joining the league in 2003, in regards to this article, prove my point. Osi has been around for a bit and has proven who he is as a player. He's been to the Pro Bowl. He has a Super Bowl ring...and he has many good years ahed of him. Lil McCoya hasn't been on the block long enough to run his mouth about someone of Osi's caliber. That's is the point. You dove into your "grasping at straws" stat box and pulled out a few that needed to be put into perspective. I wouldn't call three Lombardi Trophies a "fall back." I would call it an accomplishment...one your birds have yet to achieve. What else ya got?

I was wondering how long it was going to take for the ever popular last stand of "we won the superbowl" to appear. I know its a nice fall back to have when you're out of things to say but in this context it really has nothing to do with the conversation. I used the statistic 12-6 because it begins on the year Osi joined the team. Osi's dominance, a clear theme of the article, can only be examined after he joined the Giants (correct me if I'm wrong). I didn't post as someone trying to make you see the error of your ways and convert you to an Eagles fan because of how much better the Eagles are and always have been. The reason I posted my original comment was to point out that the potrayal of LeSean McCoy as a talentless running back out to attack a dominant defensive end was clearly flawed. Superbowl titles, records prior to Osi Umenyiora, and favorite colors are, in this context, irrelevant.

LOL..really? 12-6 is what you're clinging too? OK...here we go...the Giants lead the Eagles 79-71-2. We have been to the Super Bowl four times. We are the proud recipients of THREE Lombardi Trophies. Let's face it..the Giants OWN the birds. That's not speculation. 12-6...this is just further proof that your team has no legacy...no bragging rights...no glory. 12-6...you're going to have to do better than that lolol.

First of all, I have yet to state in any of my posts that I believe this to be a comparison article between LeSean and Bradshaw (quote the sentence where I state that belief and I'll apologize). Secondly, I don't know how you can claim "Bradshaw IS a better running back than Gaga and until he proves otherwise that will be the way it stays" when the proof you're searching for is contained within my original post as far as total yards, touchdowns, and fumbles lost are concerned. If numbers do not constitute proof for you I'm really at a loss as to what will convince you. As for your assertion that the Eagles suck "a LOT!" the Eagles are 12-6 against the Giants since Osi joined the team in 2003 so I find that claim to be slightly erroneous. I also challenge you to locate the sentence where I endorse McCoy's off field behavior. The only point which I claim to make and the only one which seems to elude you is that it is possible to compose an article about the ongoing comment war without making poorly supported accusations as to the clearly impressive level of on-field performances of the individuals and organizations involved.

AGAIN...this is not a comparison article between Bradshaw and LaToya. Just so there is no more confusion about any "implications" - Bradshaw IS a better running back than Gaga and until he proves otherwise that will be the way it stays. McCoy DOES have a big mouth...nothing implied...simply stated. Philadelphia Eagles and fans ALWAYS run their mouths when they are doing well and are quiet as church mice when they suck...which is a LOT! Nothing implied...simply stated. Eagles fans...you just have to explain things over and over to them....nothing new here.

I'm glad you brought up the concept of reading comprehension because yours could use a tune-up. I admit that this article never explicitly states that Bradshaw is a better back than McCoy, it IMPLIES it (a tough concept to master). The exact phrase is "Naturally, someone who did not earn a top slot in rushing stats, who has a really big mouth, is going to talk trash about a position other than their own." Which brings me again to the point of slanted fact. In today's NFL, running backs are not only rushing threats, they are also recieving targets. It is a disservice to these individuals (Bradshaw included) to ignore the receiving yards they earned. Not to mention you again conveniently ignored McCoy's touchdown to fumble ratio as compared to Bradshaw's as there's not much of an argument to be had there. I also admit that the article does not explicitly state that this is the first decent Philadelphia season in awhile. It, again, implies it. "Of course, this hole is only wide enough to talk trash when the Eagles have had a moderately successful season. All other times, it is wrapped up tight." This statement implies that it is unusual for the Eagles to have a "moderately successful season."
The POINT, that has eluded you, is that my post was not about the ongoing comment war between Osi and LeSean, it was about the slanted use of facts in this article.

You MUST be a Philly fan. Your reading comprehension is proof. The FACT that Bradshaw rushed for more yards than LaToya is indeed that...a FACT. The FACT that Bradshaw in the top 10 for RUSHING yardage last season is a FACT. It's a bitter pill for the fowl feathered to swallow.
Never is it said in this article that this was the first "decent' season that the birds have had in awhile.
It is also not mentioned in this article whom is the better back.
The POINT, that has eluded you, is that "Gaga" ran his mouth about a veteran player who has made his mark in the NFL..where McCoy has not even come close.
RIF = Reading Is Fundamental. Look into it.
