Free Agent FB Vonta Leach is sadly not going to be a New York Giant… apparently he was well out of the Giants price range anyway.

"Leach has agreed to terms on a three-year, $11 million contract with Baltimore. The deal includes, per Mark Berman of FOX 26 in Houston, $6 million guaranteed.…Leach’s agent, Ralph Vitolo, says that Leach is now the highest paid fullback in the league, according to Berman. That’s accurate, but Leach’s total contract comes in at No. 2 on the all-time list. Last year, Leonard Weaver signed a three-year, $11 million deal with $6.5 million guaranteed. Weaver has since been cut."

This is disappointing but it may be the beginning of a new trend for the Giants officially — more 2 TE sets with Kevin Boss and Bear Pascoe as the bookends. Could be dangerous, as both guys are decent blockers but also have some hands for pass catching. We’ll have to see what shakes loose in training camp and if the Giants really plan on changing their tendencies up based on personel they have to work with. Unless they sign ex-Eagle Leonard Weaver…
