Also this should put to bed the notion that the Giants are cash strapped. I have had numerous discussions with peple who have described them this way. They certainly were in need of cap space….and now they have achieved that. Hopefully Steve Smith checks out with the doctors today and they have a frim timeline for his return.

@gmenhq I would love to have the big man back. One of my favorites. But I think Brewer was pretty buried on the depth chart because he was a “project” pick in the draft. I would personally love to get Lofa Tatupu or Kawika Mitchell

Well the Giants were only a couple thousand under the cap to begin with, so I think they will keep it for flexibility for the time being. Haven’t heard much as far as a trade is concerned, and their are no big name tight ends out there. Plus they appear set at Linebacker which was the main concern of fans with Goff, Boley and Kiwi.
