Eli Has Passionate Playmakers All Around Him

In his own words, Eli Manning describes why the Giants have lots offensive potential heading into the 2011 season, and he’s confident they will get the job done.  [via Giants.com]

"“We definitely have enough weapons,” Manning said. “We have guys that can make plays and guys who can do a lot of good things. It’s a matter of getting guys who can be in the right spots, give them the right opportunities, and make the plays.”“I feel good about the guys that we have here, about our players, about the way things are going on the practice field,” Manning said. “I think we have guys who are committed to the team, who work hard, who have good character, and are excited about their opportunities. That’s what you want. You want guys who play together. They do the right thing. They have a passion for the game. That’s what we have.”"

When you think of the Giants playmakers familiar with the system, steeped in Gilbride’s offense – you think of Boss and Smith without question.  They’re no longer here of course. But Bradshaw, Jacobs, Nicks, Hixon and Manningham are all crucial elements still currently on the roster, guys that know how to win.  Guys that want to win another championship.  And on the periphery of that core lie some players on the verge of breaking out. Victor Cruz, Travis Beckum, Bear Pascoe, and perhaps Darius Reynaud.  With the Giants offensive line fortified with health, youth, and experience. The defense should be as good or better than they were in 2010, a top 3 overall unit in case you forgot.

All told, Eli should have the weapons he needs to make another run at the playoffs as Jerry Reese indicated during last week’s presser – starting with the passionate mix of players he’s got around him tonight in Carolina.
