Giants Cowboys Game Flexed to Sunday Night on NBC

The NFC East championship game will be a prime time affair.

The NFL announced Saturday evening that the Week 17 Giants-Dallas Cowboys game will kick off on New Year’s night at 8:20 p.m. in MetLife Stadium. The game had been scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.

The Giants and Cowboys will enter the game with identical 8-7 records. The winner of the game will capture the NFC East championship and host a wild card playoff game on Jan. 7 or 8. The loser of the game will end its season at 8-8.

The Giants are 16-21-1 on Sunday nights. Their most recent victory was two weeks ago – at Dallas, where they earned a 37-34 triumph over the Cowboys on Dec. 11. The Giants are 7-11 at home on Sunday night. They lost to Philadelphia in MetLife Stadium on Nov. 20, 17-10.
