Former New York Giants Amani Toomer and Harry Carson will be celebrating the first official day of the New York International Auto Show with The Vehicle Production Group LLC (VPG). Throughout the day, Toomer and Carson will be available for interviews and photos. VPG manufactures the MV-1, the first wheelchair-accessible automotive designed from the ground up out of the former Hummer plant in Mishawaka, IN. The MV-1 is the latest taxicab to hit the streets in major US cities such as Washington, D.C; New York; and Chicago with others soon to follow.
The MV-1 is unprecedented among vehicles worldwide, available with either compressed natural gas (CNG) or conventional gasoline fueling systems; has a deployable ramp (available in powered or manual versions); and can comfortably seat six passengers – including wheelchairs and/or motorized scooters. Miami based VPG has a simple mission: to help those with disabilities find safe and affordable mobility solutions by developing vehicles that allow them to travel in comfort and dignity.
