Steelers suspend Mendenhall

Rashard Mendenhall has been suspended for one game by the Pittsburgh Steelers for conduct detrimental to the team.

Mendenhall did not show up to Heinz Field on Sunday after the Steelers had announced he would not be dressing for the game.

The Steelers lost the game to the San Diego Chargers and dropped to a 7-6 record on the season.

Mendenhall has not played a part in this Steelers offense this year due to being plagued by injuries. He has been their leading rusher the past three seasons but this year he has only played four games. The team has been carried by Isaac Redman, Jonathan Dwyer, and rookie Chris Rainey.

Mendenhall is an unrestricted free agent after this season and this mishap does not seem like it will help his chances to stay in Pittsburgh.
