At 1:00pm EST your New York Giants will be taking on the Arizona Cardinals at MetLife Stadium.  The inactive list for both teams are starting to be reporting, with some big news out of Arizona that starting quarterback, Carson Palmer, has been ruled out due to a nerve injury.

Before getting into more details, here are both inactive lists:

Giants – Odell Beckham Jr (WR), Devon Kennard (LB), Adam Snyder (OL), Charles Brown (OT), Kerry Wynn (DE), James Brewer (OT) & Markus Kuhn (DT).

Cardinals – Carson Palmer (QB), Glenn Carson (ILB),  Alex Okafor (OLB), Marcus Benard (OLB), Dave Zastudil (P), Darren Fells (TE) & Frostee Rucker (DE).

No big surprises for the GMEN today.  They are going a bit risky on the offensive line, just dressing seven players from that unit.  Once again, Giants’ fans will be holding their breath if any lineman go down this game, as the depth is very thin there.

Impressive rookie linebacker, Devon Kennard, will not be playing after suffering a hamstring injury last week against the Detroit Lions.  In his place, it looks like fellow rookie, Jay Bromley (DT), will be active for the first time this week.  It will be interesting to see how many reps, if any, Bromley gets on defense.

The big shocker of the day, and one that heavily favors the Giants, is news that Carson Palmer has been ruled out due to a nerve issue.  Palmer had been questionable, but most people believed he would give it a go today.  Our own Anthony Valerio had this to say about the Palmer news:

"This is a crucial game at home against a backup QB, this is a perfect scenario to build confidence for this Giants team and get back on track. The Giants lose today, it will be a demoralizing loss and will surely send Giants fans into full blown panic."

Veteran back-up, Drew Stanton, will be starting in Palmer’s place.  Stanton is known as one of the better back-up’s in the league, and as Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News pointed out, he does have history against the Giants:

Still, as Anthony mentioned, this has now turned into a most win game for our boys in blue.  They shouldn’t allow a back-up quarterback to come into their home and beat them, especially coming off an embarrassing performance in their first game.
