Larry Donnell Domination!

How about Larry Donnell?

The Giants TE was a matchup nightmare all night for Washington and was a huge reason for our Giants defeating the Washington Redskins in their own house 45-14.  He is also a major reason why this Giants offense has gone from a dreadful start this season to this explosive showing tonight.  Many saw the tight end position for Big Blue to be a glaring hole and Donnell was overlooked and dismissed by almost everyone… that is until now.

Donnell is turning heads in the best way possible, with his sharp route running and showing great catching ability.  He is a huge body and is hard for any linebacker or safety to cover despite his lack of speed.  He is seemingly always open and is great at using his large frame to create space in the open field as well as the end zone, which he showed us quite vividly tonight, hauling in three touchdown passes and totaling fifty four yards on seven receptions. The Washington secondary had no answer for Donnell, or the rest of the Giants offense for that matter.

The great thing about Donnell is that since he is making plays, he is drawing extra attention from defenses which is opening up opportunities for the rest of Big Blue’s passing attack, as well as the running game.  If he keeps this up, along with solid complimentary production from fellow TE Daniel Fells, the tight end position could be a plus — a scenario no Giants fan even fathomed coming into this season.

With offense being the biggest question mark this season for Big Blue, Larry Donnell is here to assure all of us Giants fans that Eli and Co. are going to be just fine. And with that you can hear the distinct sound of every single Giants fan collectively exhaling.  We can all bet that there will be a lot of Larry Donnell jerseys being sold after tonight’s absolutely dominating performance!  Every Giants fan now gets to rub this performance in the faces of those who doubted them and I’m sure we will all enjoy every minute of it.
