Welcome to another edition of Adam vs Will, I’m Adam Ganeles and today I’ll be asking William Watts a relatively easy question. Are the New York Football Giants back?

With the topic out there for everyone to chew on and digest, Will my friend, are the NY Giants back?

Will: Thanks Adam, let’s see, are the NY Giants back?

Well, the question becomes… back from what… or to what? Back from their crappy 2013 season? Back to their 5-0 preseason start? Back to their Super Bowl glory days? Specifically Adam, what exactly are you asking?

Adam: Will, you can play facetious all you want, but you know what the question is, are the NY Giants back?

Will: Well, they’re back to .500, they’re back to playing competitive football… but Adam, this is the NFL the Giants are competing in. It’s a young NFL season and the NY Giants are 2-2. They’ve played one quarter of the season. What the hell are they suppose to be back to? The Giants had their backs against the wall and they didn’t give-up. They won when everyone else counted them out against Houston.

And now, they’ve destroyed their long time rival in the Washington Redskins. But to say they’re back is to assume they left… and they did, after the 2011 season. They left the football calender year — Super Bowl champions. Are they back to that point?

No.

Why?

They didn’t win the Super Bowl. So yes, Adam, the Giants are back to .500, but it’s still a long damn road back to the Super Bowl. Does that answer your question?

Adam: No, it really doesn’t answer my question. But by now, I expect that from you.

Will: Thank you. Any more questions…

Adam: Yes, are the NY Giants back?

Will: To be quite blunt, no.

The NY Giants are not back. The Giants are doing better than they were doing two weeks ago, they’re at a quaint spot in NFL reality, they’re watching football on Sunday and Monday with the rest of us due to a short week. But NO, the NY Giants are not back.

The schedule they face over the next few games is brutal. Atlanta, Philadelphia, Dallas, Indianapolis, Seattle, San Francisco, Dallas and even though the Cowboys are on there twice, that’s no easy set of games for any team.

No doubt that the Giants played well and needed that game to stay alive, but also, there’s no doubt that until the Giants get through this slew of games with a lot of wins, that they’re not close to being back to anywhere yet.

Adam: That seems like a more reasonable answer, as well as all the time we have for today. Thanks for joining us, Giants Nation. We’ll see you next time for more, Adam vs Will.
