The worst part about losing 27-0, besides losing 27-0, is the talking.

Not only did the Philadelphia Eagles beat down the New York Football Giants, they blanked them, inadvertently injured Victor Cruz and sacked the NYG quarterbacks eight times. Eli Manning was sacked six times as the headline reads, but also, Ryan Nassib was sacked twice additionally for a grand total of eight sacks. Wow.

What the he!! happened?

Well Connor Barwin is one thing, the Giants just didn’t have an answer for him. Check this out:

Responsible for three sacks right there. How?

Connor Barwin gives credit to Bill Davis for calling a great game. But why not give credit to the Giants offensive line for not bothering to block anyone in the first half?

Seriously, when’s the last time you heard of an NFL QB getting sacked 5 times in one half after a three game winning streak? When does that happen?

What else caused this BIRDIE sieve opening towards Eli Manning?

Something called a Vinny Curry had two sacks. Almost doubling his career total, now at six. How did that happen, you may ask?

Well, that answer is pretty simple. In football, you have 11 men on offense and 11 men on defense. Every play is designed to be evenly matched on paper, looking to strategy, game plan and execution to gain an advantage.

  • For Philly, it was easy, the Giants had 11 players on offense, but they all decided to take the night off from blocking. Adapting the TORO philosophy where they would just move and yell OLE’ as Eli Manning was sacked or hit on nearly every play. It is not an offense that should be recommended for any other NFL team, or really, any team anywhere, ever.

The bottom line is the Philadelphia Eagles became a living nightmare for Eli Manning just like that goofy cartoon they made earlier in the week. The Giants QB’s were sacked so often due to that fact that the team simply wouldn’t block.

    Blatant refusal

. They got beat play after play and made little effort to adjust, it just wasn’t the Giants night up front.

Now, does the entire line need to be replaced? No.

That said, this is a line that needs to learn how to be more physical at the line of scrimmage. They can’t let teams like the Eagles out fancy them with exotic blitzing and they need to learn how to dominate one-on-one blocking scenarios. The Giants approached this game like the preseason and the Eagles were at the Super Bowl. It was two different football teams out there and neither of them were the 3-0 Giants of the past three weeks.

We’re not sure what that was out there, but if it happens again versus Dallas, this team will be sharing the cellar with the Washington _____________ (who cares who they are, they suck.)
