Many questions arose after the New York Giants’ third loss in a row after losing 40-24 to the Indianapolis Colts. One of those questions was wether or not this team has enough heart to play a complete football game and overcome adversity.

After hearing safety Antrel Rolle question the heart and passion of some of his fellow teammates earlier this week, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul also questioned the hearts of his fellow teammates.

  • In an interview with the media after today’s practice, JPP said on the Giants having heart, “It’s definitely been missing from a lot of guys.” He also stated “I know what it takes to play and you have to have heart. A lot of guys don’t have it. I can sit here and tell you we all do but we don’t. We can’t lose no more otherwise we’re just going to be coming in here to play the game and get a check and I don’t want that.”

He further added, “If you don’t have no heart to play this game then you’re going to continue losing. That’s with every guy..you just have to have it.” Finally when asked if his teammates lacking heart bothers him, he stated “It don’t bother me, I do my job. But we need everybody.”

It will be interesting to see whether or not these comments by JPP, who along with Rolle, is set to hit the free agent market after this season, serve as a rallying cry that unites this team and inspires a run for the playoffs or will it become another sign that there is dysfunction in the Giants locker room and drastic changes loom ahead.
