Andre Williams Fantasy Football Week 12 Projection

Andre Williams fantasy football stock has dropped a bit these past few weeks. He was given an opportunity to display his talents during the four-game absence of Rashad Jennings but could not muster a performance that deemed himself effective. During that span he posted a 2.8 yards-per-carry average on 60 carries with only two touchdowns.

Granted, Williams is still a rookie with a lot of room for growth but so far hasn’t delivered like he was earlier on in the season. Considering that Jennings is now back in the lineup, it could hurt his contributions over the next few weeks significantly.

As the New York Giants prepare to face the Dallas Cowboys, it’s expected they will rely more on the running game than ever before. While the Giants would most likely alternate reps between the two, expect to see the majority of snaps be given to Jennings since they want to ease him into the game as he’s back from injury.

Fantasy football owners should consider putting in Williams as a flex option this week if no other options are available. His value is only worthy if, heaven-forbid, Jennings goes down to injury again since Williams is the next running back in line for starting duties.

As of last Wednesday, Jennings was removed from the Giants’ injury report entirely so Williams should be owned simply as a handcuff, especially if one owns Jennings and needs a quick insurance policy. However the production cannot simply be expected to be the same as Jennings.

The bright-side to owning Williams is that he is completely healthy. With his bruising-ability he should be somewhat of a touchdown-vulture if anything. However, Jennings is by far the lead-guy in the Giants backfield and Ben McAdoo does have a love for screen plays featuring his ability to plow through defenders but in this particular matchup, Williams is not worth starting.
