New York Giants’ 5 Questions With The Enemy: Dallas Cowboys
In a matter of hours, the Dallas Cowboys will be in MetLife Stadium set to do battle against the New York Giants. One of the best features of the FanSided network is the fact that every single NFL team is represented. Our friends over at TheLandryHat.com reached out to us here at GMenHQ.com to see if we could get some insight on each other’s respective team.
Below are the responses from their very own Steven Mullenax who was kind enough to answer some questions we asked for insight on this big NFC East matchup. If you’d also like to see our questions answered by his staff, please click here. Without further adieu, enjoy!

1. Do you think that this game could be a trap for the Cowboys with a huge matchup looming next week versus the Philadelphia Eagles?
SM: Not really just because the Cowboys are coming off a bye and I believe they have really focused solely on the Giants’ this week. But Dallas does have three games in the next 12 days.
If there was a matchup I was fearful the Cowboys would be under prepared for, it would be the Philadelphia Eagles game on Thanksgiving due to the quick turnaround. If anything, the Cowboys are probably overly prepared to face the Giants on Sunday night.
2. Which Giants player catches your eye as a potential playmaker and how do you see him faring this Sunday?
SM: I think recevier Odell Beckham is the obvious choice. The rookie shined in the last matchup between these two teams, recording four catches for 34 yards and two scores. But I actually think tight end Larry Donnell is the biggest threat. Although he fumbled twice against Dallas in Week Seven, Donnell caught all seven of his targets for nearly 100 yards. I fully expect him to have a big night on Sunday.
3. How confident do Cowboys fans think that Tony Romo‘s back will hold up in hopes of a playoff run?
SM: I think most Cowboys fans would say fair to middling, which simply means so-so. Obviously, there is a giant bullseye on Romo’s lower back. But with the NFL being such a violent sport, we all know any player could suffer an injury at any time. I think we take comfort in knowing the Cowboys have a great offensive line in place to protect Romo. Outside of that, the dude is simply a gutsy player. Romo will tough it out as best he can. And if he can’t, Dallas can kiss the playoffs goodbye.
4. Has DeMarco Murray surpassed Dez Bryant as the team’s go-to play-maker?
SM: Maybe they should, but the answer is still no. When the Cowboys need a big play, the don’t really look to either player as much as they put the onus on Tony Romo’s shoulders. Maybe the question should be, who does Romo trust more? If I were him, I’d probably say Bryant over Murray. But honestly, Romo is the real playmaker in this offense.
5. Who ultimately has been the MVP so far this season for the Cowboys when it comes to clutch situations?
SM: The MVP trophy should go to this offensive line before anyone else. DeMarco Murray is up there with them. But when it comes to clutch plays, it’s all about Tony Romo. Just look at the 23-yard pass play to wideout Terrance Williams on a big third and 20 conversion in the victory over the Seattle Seahawks as proof.
Or how about an injured Romo twirling away from the grasp of defensive monster J.J. Watt and throwing a booming touchdown pass to Williams to help beat the Houston Texans earlier this season? The 34-year old quarterback makes two or three insane clutch plays every week. You only have to review the game against the Arizona Cardinals in Week Nine, when Dallas was forced to start back-up quarterback Brandon Weeden, to see how important Romo is to this team. He is Mr. Clutch for this team right now.
