Odell Beckham Jr Rightfully Earns Offensive Rookie Of The Month
By Justin Groc
After making the catch seen-around-the-world, New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr has received the NFL’s November Offensive Rookie of the Month honors. Last month Beckham put up an NFL-leading 593 yards on 38 catches, averaging 15.6 yards-per-catch, with two touchdowns. He has also seen time in the return game but most of his damage has been done on offense.

Beckham’s best game was against the Dallas Cowboys when he posted 10 receptions for 146 yards and two touchdowns. During his second touchdown grab of the night was when he made a very athletic one-handed touchdown grab (and that is still understating it considering he only had three fingers on the ball) that is still being replayed and talked about on sports stations til this very day.
In five games during November, Beckham put up receiving yards-totals of: 156, 108, 93, 146, and 90. He has become the Giants go-to target for the remainder of this season and will complement a solid tandem with Victor Cruz beginning next season. Despite this season being a wash, Beckham gives the Giants hope for their future.
Compared to other rookies in the hunt for these honors in November, none really came close to the impact that Beckham had. Especially for a team that is just flat out terrible. It’s safe to say that Beckham will be a big part of the rebuilding phase the Giants plan to endure starting at the end of this season. Plenty of questions need to be answered ranging from coaching decisions to personnel ones as well.
Needless to say, Beckham earning these honors for his contributions in November at least puts a bright spot on an otherwise forgettable season. It’s nice to see a member of the Giants get some recognition since his one-handed catch might just be the highlight of this entire season!
