There was one star that shined brightest in the New York Giants victory against the Washington Redskins. Odell Beckham Jr was absolutely incredible. The rookie wide receiver had yet another 100 yard performance. The Redskins had no answer for the young and mighty ODB. The Giants pass rush was also exceptional, the Giants notched their 21st sack in 3 weeks of football. The Giants’ defense got 6 sacks in this matchup.

This was the 5th game for Beckham over 100 yards. He had 143 yards and 3 touchdowns with his 12 receptions. He hauled in two 35 yard bombs from Eli Manning. He even caught a touchdown pass that did not count due to a holding penalty. Beckham was the recipient of all three Eli Manning‘s touchdowns.

Everybody seemed to get in on the action sacking the Redskins quarterback. Colt McCoy left the game with a neck injury, and Griffin got most of the bone crushing hits. Johnathan Hankins and Jason Pierre-Paul led the way with 2.5 sacks each. The Giants defenders forced 4 fumbles but only recovered 1 of them.

The game was decided by the pass catching of Beckham and the pass rushing of the defense. The Giants offense had little production other than Beckham, who caught 12 of the Giants 23 completed passes.

Andre Williams only managed to get 44 rushing yards in the contest. Without Beckham it is hard to imagine where the offense would have come from.

The Redskins out gained the Giants in yards 372-227. The Redskins failure to score is largely due to drive killing sacks. The Giants sacks were timely and produced incredible momentum, especially playing at home in front of their fans. Even when the Redskins were marching down the field, they always had the creeping fear of the Giants pass rush.

New York came away victorious 24-13. It was not pretty but the standout performances of their rookie receiver and their pass rushers were enough to win.
