With the NFL scouting combine and free agency just around the corner, the New York Giants find themselves in a tough situation after missing the playoffs for the third year in a row. The Giants have many holes to fill on both sides of the ball with the biggest issue being the team’s offensive line that was hit with injuries and under performed all season as a result. Due to this, the Giants must be aggressive and land a top offensive lineman. Someone like Green Bay Packers right tackle Bryan Bulaga.

Now general manager Jerry Reese, head coach Tom Coughlin and the rest of the team’s staff are all feeling the pressure to address and fix the team’s issues or face the possibility of losing their jobs. One possible solution for Big Blue in the free agent market is acquire Bulaga who has plenty of upside left in his career.

The only problem is that Bulaga’s services will not come cheap. This may cause him to hit the free agent market as arguably the top offensive lineman in this free agency class.

If Bulaga does hit the open market, it will throw Big Blue into a bidding war with other teams and the Giants cannot afford to overpay due to their long list of needs. The draft could solve as a cheap solution for most of the Giants needs, so they may just be able to pull of a deal for the 6’5, 314lb tackle who excels in pass protection. Something the Giants could absolutely use.

If Bulaga is wearing Giants blue next season, it would allow the team to move the versatile Justin Pugh to right guard where his skill set would be a better fit and allow Geoff Schwartz and Will Beatty to shore up their normal spots at left guard and left tackle respectively. It will also allow Weston Richburg to slide into his natural position at center.

That would create a much more stable offensive line that would allow the Giants to fully utilize all their weapons on offense which could allow them to have one of the best offenses in football. That all depends on if Bulaga does indeed hit the market and if the Giants can figure out how to bring him in at a fair price.

All things considered, Bulaga would be a great fit in New York and is definitely worth pursuing for the G-Men.
