2015 NFL Draft: 3 WR For New York Giants To Target

Although the Giants have good wide receivers there’s always room for more. It’s better to have more than less. It seems like every season the Giants get hit with the injury bug at the wide receiving position. In the 2015 NFL draft there are three that stand out to me.

Devin Funchess of Michigan he’s 6-4 232lbs. In his 2014 college season he had 4 touch downs for 62 catches. Funchess pro day results were good. He ran the 40 yard dash in 4.48 seconds.

His big size and long legs contribute to his speed, jumping high, and being able to break away from defensive backs. He can also play at the tight end position. This could give the Giants great leverage in both the wide receiver and tight end position.

Darren Waller of Georgia Tech he’s 6-6 and weighs 238 pounds. In the 2015 combine Waller ran the 40 yard dash in 4.46 seconds.

His long arms and legs help him to get over corners boxing out defenders. Waller’s a strong tough fast player that can take hits from an opposing defense. Even when covered he’s uncovered.

Jordan Taylor from Rice he’s a 6-5″ 210 pound wide receiver. He runs well and can go deep running intermediate routes. For 3 straight seasons Taylor has led the offense in catches, yards and in touchdowns in 2 of his last 3 years at Rice.

In college Taylor’s most impressive play was a one-handed catch which resulted in a 75 yard touch down. The Giants can use a player like this that can go deep and make big catches.

These are all receivers that the Giants can draft after they have addressed other needs. Funchess may be drafted in the 1st round but that isn’t likely. Waller and Taylor have high potential but are mid round draft picks at best. These could be the diamonds in the rough that help the Giants win.
