Deflate Gate: What Eli Manning Thinks About Tom Brady

As more information about the Deflate Gate surfaces, NFL players are bound to give commentary on it. Tom Brady was suspended four games yesterday for his supposed knowledge of using a deflated football. Ralph Vacchiano reported yesterday that Eli Manning wasn’t happy at all about Brady’s suspension. He claimed that he “felt bad for his buddy” and that he, “doesn’t like to see anyone get suspended.”

While Manning does feel bad, he did remain very stern about the whole situation. What I mean by stern is that Manning kept on saying that “you have to follow the rules” and that he “understands if someone is breaking the rules they’re going to be punished for breaking them.” Personally when I read Vacchiano’s interview with Manning, I thought Manning was kind of stating that the NFL is right for suspending Brady.

Manning is not the kind of player to stir up trouble, he has no reason too and quite frankly I don’t think he cares enough. I believe he gave his honest opinion on the situation. The Manning interview hinted that Brady knew about the deflated football in a way, not that we didn’t all know that already. I thought Manning’s take on it would be very interesting though.

Vacchiano reported that Manning played around with some deflated footballs and he said that there is “a noticeable difference” in the feel of the ball. Manning kind of proved that Brady is dead wrong right there on the spot. Brady definitely had to know that the ball was deflated. These players spent half their lives holding a football, there is no excuse.

Manning did have one point because the NFL isn’t going to mess around with occurrences like this anymore. I’m honestly surprised the NFL suspended him in general. Many assumed that this whole investigation was a joke in the first place.
