New York Giants: Ranking The Offense
If there’s one thing to know about the 2015 New York Giants, it’s the fact that the offense is going to be one to remember. Even with a lackluster 6-10 season in 2014, the Giants offense was on fire at some points in the season. They were one of the top ranked teams in points scored per game. This year, the Giants will have one of the top ranked offenses in the entire league.
Projected Top Five Offenses In The League:
1. Seattle Seahawks
2. Green Bay Packers
3. Indianapolis Colts
4. New England Patriots
5. New York Giants
If all goes well, the New York Giants will rank in the top five among NFL offenses. Eli Manning proved that an old dog can learn new tricks and he will master Ben McAdoo’s new offense this year. He now has Victor Cruz, Odell Beckham, and Rueben Randle to throw to. The Giants’ receiving core may be one of the best in the league.
Throw Larry Donnell into the mix and you have a whole entire arsenal of weapons. No one expected the Giants’ offense to improve this much over a year, but they really have made strides in the right direction.
The key is for the Giants’ to maintain consistency with their offense. Consistency means having a balanced running and passing game. That is one factor that single handedly ruined the Giants’ 2014 season. When running back Rashad Jennings went down, the Giants’ offense never rebounded correctly.
The difference in 2015 is that the Giants added some much needed depth. Andre Williams is poised to have a breakout season. He had some growing pains last year, but he did show signs of some major talent. Shane Vereen was signed via free agency and was one of the reasons why the New England Patriots won the Super Bowl.
The Giants offensive line isn’t looking as bad as it was last year either. The newly acquired Ereck Flowers seems to be one heck if a beast on the line. The Giants’ could use that kind of attitude these days. With Geoff Schwartz coming back from his injury and Justin Pugh most likely getting moved over to a position that suits him better, the Giants have a nice recipe for success in the trenches.
