We all know Steve Spagnuolo’s history at this point with the New York Giants. His first season with the team in 2007, they went on to lead the league in sacks, boast a top 10 defensive in yards allowed, and carry the Lombardi trophy around the canyon of heroes.

With the losses of both Michael Strahan and Osi Umenyiora in his 2nd season, Spagnuolo turned out a top 10 defense once again. Leading to a 12 win season and the NFC’s number one seed.

Since, his departure the defense has suffered big-time. Even in their 2011 Super Bowl winning season, the team still finished 27th in yards per game allowed. In fact, they’ve finished 27th or worse in that category 3 of the last 4 seasons.

That will certainly change with Spagnuolo at the helm, I can promise you that. His impact has already been made with many players, especially the younger one’s who have heard of his track record. So, without further ado here the 5 reasons why he will return the Giants defense back to relevancy.
