Odell Beckham Vs. Dez Bryant Who’s Better?

facebooktwitterreddit

Odell Beckham Jr. and Dez Bryant are the two most impressive receivers in the NFC East. In our recent poll question 148 voters out of 254 declared the Cowboys as the Giants biggest rival; I’m sure the following question will spark heated debate. Who is the better receiver, Beckham Jr. or Bryant.

These are two different players with two different styles of play. Bryant is now a seasoned six year veteran. With a big and strong 6-2 220 pound frame and a incredible athletic ability Bryant is always open over his head. He can make acrobatic catches and is almost impossible to tackle with the ball in the open field.

More from NY Giants News

Bryant is coming off an incredible season in which he caught 88 passes for 1,320 yards and 16 touchdown passes. What Bryant has become is the best red zone threat in the NFL.

Bryant is a touchdown machine and that is why he has scored double digit touchdowns for the past three seasons.

Beckham Jr. is 5-11 and 198 pounds. What he lacks in size and physicality he makes up for (and then some) with great route running, incredible speed and the ability to make the circus catches.

Beckham Jr. is the modern day Cris Carter, the master of the one handed catch. Nobody in football has better hands than Beckham Jr. You can debate if Dez caught it or not, Beckham Jr. would have hauled it in because their is nothing he can’t catch.

One commonality between Bryant and Beckham Jr. is that they both only played 12 games in their rookie season. Beckham Jr. outshined Bryant’s rookie season. Beckham Jr. had 91 receptions and 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns.

In 201o, Bryant’s rookie season, he only started in two games but proved to be an integral part of the offense. He had 45 receptions for 561 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Bryant and Beckham Jr. are different receivers. Bryant has a size and strength advantage, Beckham Jr. has better hands and is the most precise route runner in football. It is hard to declare a winner in this receiver battle. Bryant is the best red zone threat in football while Beckham Jr. may be the most well rounded talent in the NFL.

Both players are homerun hitters who can fly in the open field. So what do you think? Who is better? Vote in the poll and be sure to comment, to let your reason be heard.
