New York Giants: Eli Manning Poised For MVP Caliber Season

The New York Giants have a very accomplished quarterback in Eli Manning, though being the NFL MVP is something that eludes his trophy case. Could Manning be the Most Valuable Player in the 2015 season?

Its not a far fetched idea when you digest the big time numbers that Manning put up last season. Manning threw for 4,410 yards last season which was the sixth most passing yards in the NFL. With a team that has been improved in a few key areas, Manning may be even to do even better this season.

Manning put on an offensive clinic and the Giants still went 6-10. That just shows you how many problems the Giants had last season. Now the Giants are hoping that Manning can lead them back to the playoffs and even back to the Super Bowl.

If the Giants are going to win it will be because of their high flying passing game. It will be because Manning is playing sharp and tearing defenses apart. It will be because he is finding Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz for big plays all over the field. Make no mistake about it, the Giants have to win on Manning’s arm.

If the Giants make the postseason, after two straight losing seasons, Manning will be in the running for the Most Valuable Player award. Manning is entering the second season with offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo, which means there will be an extra level of comfort to Manning’s game. Manning doesn’t have to learn a new offense this year and his performance will be improved by it.

It isn’t unthinkable that Manning could knock on the door of 5,000 passing yards in a pass happy offense with great weapons. Manning has his best opportunity to win the MVP trophy, one of the only accolades that he hasn’t earned. The two-time Super Bowl MVP could just be the regular season MVP this year.
