Welcome Giants Nation to the Morning Donut. It is time to start your weekend and we have you covered for your Big Blue fix. The Morning Donut is a collection of the top stories from around the internet. Think of it as your morning sports page, customized for your love of the New York Giants.

Ereck Flowers, Landon Collins, Mykkele Thomson could start for New York Giants by Dan Graziano (ESPN)

"Why Mykkele Thompson could start: Again, necessity. The leading candidate to start at safety along with Collins was probably 2014 fifth-round pick Nat Berhe, but he missed all of OTAs with a calf injury and is likely set back. The guy who ran with the first team in Berhe’s place was 2013 fifth-round pick Cooper Taylor, who’s coming off his own serious injury and isn’t a perfect fit at free safety. Free-agent signee Josh Gordy and converted cornerback Bennett Jackson are the other candidates, so why not 2015 fifth-rounder Thompson?"

Odell Beckham Jr. (hamstring) irked by idle time, teammates’ jokes by Dan Graziano (ESPN)

"For me, this is what I love doing, and this is what I feel like my purpose was to do,” Beckham said. “So it takes a lot of strength for me to be able to come here every day and not practice, have to hear the little remarks, the little jokes, this and that."

Second-round safety Landon Collins signs rookie deal with Giants by Darin Gantt (Pro Football Talk NBC Sports)

"The 33rd overall pick, Collins was a priority for the Giants after losing Antrel Rolle and Stevie Brown this offseason. That’s part of the reason they traded up to the top spot of the second round to get him."

Eli Manning: Odell Beckham has to learn how to handle the media by Josh Alper (Pro Football Talk NBC Sports)

"Manning’s a good example for Beckham and other players to follow when it comes to dealing with the media. He may not always be the most exciting interview, but he’s done what’s asked of him on that front in good times and bad times for him and for the team. We’d imagine Beckham will do the same once camp starts, unless he wants this to be a running storyline in his second NFL season."
