The New York Giants have a combined record of 13-19 in the past two seasons and have had a dreadful showing in the preseason. Surely there are plenty of Giants fans who need to be talked off the emotional cliff. While things may look bleak for the Giants right now, there are reasons to have hope.

The Giants are probably not a Super Bowl contender this season. We can hope all we want but that seems rather unlikely. This is very much a rebuilding year. If the Giants reach the post season that’s gravy. What we need to see from the Giants is progress. The Giants need to get back on the right track. That is something that can be accomplished this season.

There is always hope when you start a new season. Every team pursues the Lombardi trophy with a clean slate. Last year doesn’t matter and everything you get moving forward is earned on the gridiron. That I suppose is the first reason for hope the Giants fans can cling to. Anything can happen in the NFL. But here are 5 more reasons for hope this season in the Giants Nation.
