Prediction: New York Giants Dominate the Redskins
By Eric Mollo
New York Giants 26 Washington Redskins 13
Well, here we go. It’s entirely possible a 7-9 record earns you a playoff berth in the NFC East—and that may in fact happen—but it’s tough to even get to 7-9 after starting 0-3. I don’t think too many people would say you’re wrong if you called this a must-win. And that’s what I’m going to call it: a must-win.
Big Blue needs this game both to stay alive in the (yes, weak) division, but also, they really just need some confidence. It’ll probably take a little extra push to get a W, but I think the Giants can last against a team that they should beat.

Washington was quite impressive last Sunday. They’ve found quite the playmaker to pair with Alfred Morris in Matt Jones while also showing they have a little fire on defense. On paper, this is a decent team. On the field, this is a decent team—better than I expected when the season opened. But when you compare them to the Falcons or Cowboys, they just don’t stack up. The Giants held their own in Weeks 1 and 2 and arguably should have won both those games. I think they should win this one too, and will.
It’ll come down to the usual factors: Eli needs to play well, the o-line needs to protect him, and they have to generate some pressure. It’s a simple formula. And should the Giants execute, I think this is a game they’ll win. And with their backs against the wall, I think they do execute, and I think they do pull it out.
Should they not pull it out… at home… against a division rival… I’m just going to refuse to think about what would transpire from there.
