NFL Free Agents The Giants Should Target

Teams will be able to enter negotiations with reps of upcoming unrestricted NFL free agents on March 12th. Contracts can’t be executed until after 4pm Eastern Time on March 15th. The New York Giants should have more than $35 million dollars in cap space to re-sign their own free agents and acquire new ones. The strategy is clear-cut: get yourself a gosh dang pass rusher.

The Giants were among the worst in the league sacking the quarterback. Their linebacking corps was banged up and was often exposed in pass coverage, especially with the game on the line. Big Blue desperately needs to get a battery mate for Landon Collins at the safety position. If they can’t (or don’t want to) keep Jason Pierre-Paul, Robert Ayers, Prince Amukamara, and Rueben Randle, they absolutely have to be active and aggressive in acquiring replacements and upgrades and not rely on the first two rounds of the draft.
