The New York Giants draft history can serve as a reminder that not every all-time great comes in the first or second rounds. Sometimes, instrumental talent falls to the third round, so we’re ranking the top 10 third round Giants draft picks of all-time.

Under General Manager Jerry Reese, Giants fans have seen that while the first two rounds have paid dividends, later rounds haven’t provided much in the way of long-lasting quality talent. The strategy of best player available has made sense in the first couple rounds, however, the Giants have missed on diamonds in the rough, hidden gems, and darkhorse sleepers later in the process. Are the scouts to blame? Are the Giants coaches and executives overlooking under-appreciated intangibles?

Previously, we ranked the top 10 first round draft picks and the top 10 second round draft picks. With this list, you can see the vast range of skill sets and achievements that a third rounder can contribute. Whether it’s filling in for a starter during a playoff run, almost always finding the end zone, paving the way for a potential dynasty, or being a reliable workhorse – most of the names you’ll see won’t jump out at you, but they should be commended for their steady efforts.
