Man, it’s getting tough to make it through a week of football without a season ending injury. This time we have another quarterback and it happened to a player, Matt Leinart, on a team, the Houston Texans, that already lost a starting quarterback, Matt Schaub, for the season. After the Indianapolis Colts lost uber-star QB Peyton Manning for the season the Texans were expected to win the AFC South and earn their first playoff berth. With presumably rookie T.J. Yates taking over the QB reigns unless newly signed veteran turnover machine Jake Delhomme takes over, the Texans just might not steamroll into the playoffs.

Other than Arian Foster or Ben Tate, most Texans offensive weapons such as Owen Daniels and Andre Johnson will lose fantasy value with Yates at the helm. The Texans’ defense might also take a hit if Yates forces the defense to play more than usual due to a high number of turnovers. But Yates might be one of those rare third string rookie quarterbacks that turns out to be pretty good though. I guess we have to find out.

Now, enough about the Texans, let’s get on to the list of fantasy football players that might still be available on the waiver wire in your league that you should pick up to help you solidify your team for the fantasy playoffs or help propel your team into the playoffs…

Of the six categories of weekly leaders in the NFL for Week 5, three of them were New York Giants (Eli Manning, Jason Pierre-Paul and Victor Cruz). That was then. This is now! Welcome to Week 6 of the 2011 NFL season. We are just over one-third of the way through and, as we have discovered already, ANYTHING can happen!

This week, we take another gander into the looking glass of the ESPN braintrust. Week 5 proved some of the ESPN pundits to be kings among men. It also proved that some of them are…well…not so much. How did I do? Who am I picking this week? Continue on for my break/down-beat down and analysis of all this week’s upcoming matchups.
