Wow..Some athletes just give their all to a team. After months of bashing owners, and fans during last years lockout. After calling out the commissioner on why HE, Drew Brees, wasn’t personally shown proof of the Bounty case. After refusing to sign his franchise tag and threatening to not show up at training camp….Drew Brees has agreed to live on just 100 million over the next 5 years…What a guy! To force his family to live without the extra 500k a year he was seeking for that period of time takes a special person. While most veteran players have spent their time re-structuring their contracts to help build the team around them, Drew obviously has come to the conclusion that he IS the Saints. Good luck New Orleans! I wish you all the best

When Reggie Bush commented that there would be no players that would support Roger Goodell’s season ending suspension of Johnathan Vilma, he didn’t account for Eli Manning. In a conference call to promote Eli’s SNL appearance this May 5th, Eli stated “I think he’s (Goodell) doing the right thing to make sure this doesn’t ever happen again,” Manning said. “There’s no room for any type of bounty system in the N.F.L. You have to respect the game.”
Manning added: “I think he’s been harsh to try and prove, to make a statement, that there is no place for this in the game of football.”

The extremely well oiled NFL machine continues to churn through the off-season providing news on an almost daily basis. Yesterday the NFL shocked many of it’s followers by announcing the opening night contest, already changed to Wednesday September 5th, will be a contest between the division rival Dallas Cowboys and New York Football Giants at MetLife Stadium, home of the Super Bowl Champion Giants.

Many had thought , for good reason, that the NFL would pair the previous two Super Bowl Champions against each other with the Packers making a trip to New Jersey. The news came out that actually the NFL had been considering the Cowboys and Saints as opening night opponents for the Giants, and with the mess the Saints have gotten themselves into, they were obviously disregarded as a possibility.

So. it’s all set…..Wednesday September 5th in New York against the Cowboys, hope they don’t mind a little Ring Ceremony before the start of the game!

Expect the NFL to keep the information coming as rule changes will be voted on, Player punishments for the Saints, and the new NIKE uniforms are unveiled next week (April 3rd). Oh yeah, and a little thing called the NFL Draft is just a month away.

It is being reported, by Warren Sapp, that Jeremy Shockey who had an uneven relationship in New Orleans with both Drew Brees and Sean Payton, was the one who blew the whistle to the NFL about the Saints use of bounties. Shockey, never the one to be shy on the way out the door, was not happy when super star Jimmy Graham took his job in New Orleans. He also wasn’t all that thrilled with being just another guy when it came to Drew Brees and the other receivers. Sapp is currently the only source on this issue and it has not been confirmed.

This will be a great story to follow in the next few days!

This just in: The Saints Head Coach Sean Payton has been suspended for the ENTIRE YEAR without pay. GM Mickey Loomis has been suspended 8 games, and the architect of it all Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams, now of the St. Louis Rams, has been suspended indefinitely. Saints assistant coach Joe Vitt has also been suspended 6 games.

We knew the NFL wanted to come down hard on the Saints and especially the coaches, and this they did. The Saints will also be fined $500,000 and lose a second round pick in this years and next years draft.

More to come as they will also address players that participated
