With the Philadelphia Eagles defeating the New York Giants on Sunday night, the Dallas Cowboys had the chance to show the world that they could possibly be better than the defending champs with a win over a very good Chicago Bears team. Fortunately, for us New Yorkers, all they showed was how inconsistent of a team they really are.

Monday Night Football was supposed to be a great matchup between two of the league’s best…. Instead, the Bears exposed and embarrassed the Cowboys.

The game was scoreless until the second quarter when Tony Romo threw one of his five interceptions on the night. Charles Tillman picked it off and ran it back for a 25 yard interception return. Romo answered back quickly with a 10 yard touchdown pass to Miles Austin to make the game close before halftime.

Jay Cutler had a strong second half, throwing both of his touchdowns on the night during and ending the game going 18-24 with 275 yards. Romo was not as lucky. He threw another pick for six in the 3rd quarter and was eventually taken out of the game at the end of the 4th for former Bear’s quarterback, Kyle Orton.

Romo ended the game going 31-43 with 307 yards with one touchdown and five interceptions. His quarterback rating was a pathetic 14.2!

The Cowboy’s running game was also pathetic, getting only 24 yards out of running back DeMarco Murray. Murray started the season off strong against the Giants, but hasn’t provided anything since.

The only positive the Cowboys got out of this game was tight end Jason Witten’s coming out party. He finally woke up and caught 13 passes for 112 yards and one touchdown.

After a great start to the season, the Cowboy’s are starting to look like their usually choke artist selves. If they focused on football rather than opening Victoria Secret stores in the stadium, maybe they would be atop the NFC East.

Santa must have Kyle Orton on both his naughty and nice list. First, Orton got his wish and was released by the Broncos, who put him on waivers. Orton saw Jay Cutler’s potentially season ending injury and wanted to be let go so he could go play for the Bears.

Except for that to happen he had to either clear waivers or hope that no team with a higher waiver priority than the Bears would put a claim on him. Well, that part of the equation didn’t happen as the Chiefs came in and claimed Orton.

This makes sense for the Chiefs as they are still in the hunt for the AFC West division crown at 4-6, and yes, that division is terrible, and Tyler Palko reminds people of Shane Falco. It shouldn’t take long for Orton to fall in love with Dwayne Bowe, as he did with Brandon Lloyd. Once Orton takes over the starting job it will make for an interesting homecoming when the Chiefs travel to Denver on New Year’s Day in Week 17, in what could be a game with playoff implications.

The big news coming out Week 11 in the world of fantasy football once again revolves around injuries. Week 11 saw Bears’ starting QB Jay Cutler fracture his right thumb attempting to make a tackle after an interception that might result in him missing the rest of the season. The other biggest injury news concerns Vikings’ starting RB Adrian Peterson, who left last Sunday’s game with a high ankle sprain and is expected to miss at least 1 game.

If you’re like me and kicking yourself for not picking up Kevin Smith last week, who went on to score 3 touchdowns, then take a look at the following players who should be available in your league to help you out for the playoffs

The New York Giants sit atop of the NFC East in Week 7. They also find themselves with a much needed Bye Week. Fret not, football fans. There is still plenty of pigskin to go around this week! There are some great games that you won’t want to miss…and some that you would probably prefer to watch paint dry instead.

We hop over the fence to see what teams the experts over at ESPN are picking this week, as well as gawk at their results from last week. Naturally, we’ll be doing the same for yours truly. Each week, I go head to head with the big boys and live to tell about it. How did I do last week? Who am I picking this week? Come on in and take a look at my breakdown and analysis for each game.

Of the six categories of weekly leaders in the NFL for Week 5, three of them were New York Giants (Eli Manning, Jason Pierre-Paul and Victor Cruz). That was then. This is now! Welcome to Week 6 of the 2011 NFL season. We are just over one-third of the way through and, as we have discovered already, ANYTHING can happen!

This week, we take another gander into the looking glass of the ESPN braintrust. Week 5 proved some of the ESPN pundits to be kings among men. It also proved that some of them are…well…not so much. How did I do? Who am I picking this week? Continue on for my break/down-beat down and analysis of all this week’s upcoming matchups.

The glory of the Lombardi Trophy is a mere two wins away. Men put their life and limb on the line just for an opportunity to hold it in their hand. The road is long for some, longer still for others. Four teams will have to endure 60 minutes of regulated football time and the elements of a cold, hard winter. The Super Bowl is upon us and the ESPN panel of fortune tellers verdicts are in.

I should note that last week, after my prediction article was published, Ron Jaworski and Chris Mortensen changed two of their picks. Both had originally picked the Jets to win over the New England Patriots. I am sure the trash talk of the New York Jets had something to do with it. Changing their picks was a mistake on their part nonetheless. Only one expert went 4-0 last week and you are reading his article right now. Thank you very much. Who am I picking this weekend and why? Read on for my breakdown and analysis!

Round 2. The Divisional Playoff Game. Bring it or spend the next eight months wondering, “what if.” This weekend, many a fan will find themselves left without a voice but filled with another week of hope and team pride. Others will find themselves bewildered and in a state of despair. These are the NFL playoffs folks, ain’t nothing like ‘em!

Click on the link below to check out my predictions and game analysis.
