Like usual the Giants always have to make things complicated this time of year heading into playoffs. Luckily we are 4th in the NFC and on top of the NFC East. But if the Giants were to lose to the Saints tomorrow and the Redskins and/or Dallas were to win this week then our Big Blue will become 3rd in the NFC East. Let’s think positively though, because everyone with two eyes and a TV knows that the Giants can be as clutch as needed to get into the playoffs and even clench Super Bowl titles. The New Orleans Saints had a really rough start to the season and have finally stepped up in the last couple games lead by a Brees’ offense. Last week against the Falcons the Saints had non-stop turnovers and Brees threw five interceptions. The New York Giants have to take advantage of New Orleans, forcing turnovers and focus on a having a strong rush defense. By putting pressure on Moore and Colston the Giants will be able to contain the Saints and remain sitting happily on top of the NFC East. In order to win this week Eli Manning needs to serve up a big bowl of salsa with some Hakeem Chips.

Till Next Week—Much Love and Go Giants!!! ~Lindsay

It’s already week 13 and it’s time to play the Redskins for the second time this season. Our first meeting was a close call with Big Blue clutching the win with the oh so appropriate salsa celebration after a TD from Cruz. New York Giants are on top of the division with a 7-4 record with the Redskins in second place with a 5-6 record. The Packers win was exactly the type of playing from the Giants that I was highly anticipating. Just like I said the Giants always bring their A game versus Green Bay and I am ready for this momentum to build to take us deep into the playoffs. The first meeting with the Redskins was the first time Eli Manning was sacked in the season so knowing that Washington is capable of getting hands on the QB means the Gmen offensive line has to be stronger. RGIII hasn’t lost his heat and will be looking for revenge in this match-up. (more…)

I am hoping the bye week and a hearty Thanksgiving meal will be enough to get our New York Giants out of their usual November slump and back to being a contender for this year’s Super Bowl. There really is nothing better than a Sunday night showdown versus the Green Bay Packers. The Giants in past seasons have consistently brought their A game against Green Bay, especially when it’s necessary around playoff time. Unfortunately the Cheesehead ego is pretty big right now as they come to MetLife having won five games in a row. While on the other hand the Giants have shown a lack of effort in the past games (that Bengals game was a joke) and need to get in playoff gear. The Packers defense has weakened since last season which is a positive for New York. Aaron Rodgers is solid as always firing passes into the endzone and I’ve seen NY stop him before and now they can stop him again. Over the bye week I can only hope that Kevin Gilbride drilled some offensive play making into the heads of Big Blue to avoid yet another November embarrassment.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving,

Lindsay

After a disappointing break in the winning streak last week versus the Steelers, it’s important that this second half of the season the Giants get back in the winner’s circle. By clenching this week’s win the Giants will be one step closer to reserving a playoff spot without having to cram towards the end of the season to make up for losses. If you look at the rest of the schedule unfortunately our opponents will be the toughest yet. (more…)

With the tri-state area still recovering and finally receiving power, a streak of 5 consecutive wins by the Giants tomorrow can lift up the spirits of those struggling to get their lives/homes back together. If that means those without power have to gather at the nearest sports bar to cheer on Big Blue, Giants fans will make it happen. That is why this week is especially important for our New York Giants. The Steelers have been hurting all season with injuries from Mendenhall, Dwyer and of course the most notable, Troy Polamalu. The Giants need to exploit on the injuries, working the short passes that Pittsburgh seem to have problems containing this season thus far. I expect to see a lot of Eli to Martellus Bennett action, who has already made one hell of a mark this season as his first year as a Giant (who BTW got a TD last game against his old team, the Cowboys).

Week 8 and it’s already time in the season to head into Texas to the most obnoxious stadium in the nation, Jerry Jones’ $1.2 billion dollar Cowboys’ kingdom. Maybe it’s the price tag of the stadium and all the hype surrounding it that has caused our New York Giants to be undefeated in Arlington, but either way the Giants winning streak can definitely continue this Sunday. In the scheme of the schedule Dallas really shouldn’t be that big of a worry for the Gmen when Pittsbrugh and Green Bay are just around the corner. (more…)

All us Giants want to see is a good old fashioned NFC East win. Of course a confidence booster like the win last week versus the Niners is always welcome but being on top of the division without having beat an NFC rival yet is not something I like to see. Third time’s a charm? I hope so with a Giants win over Washington in tomorrow’s game.

As everyone knows the Giants play much better when they are under pressure. Eli comes to life in the 4th quarter, games they are supposed to win they don’t play as hard as they should until they feel threatened. On the other hand when an upcoming game is claimed to be an “easy win” for the opposing team all of the sudden the hype builds up causing the media to get involved, adding a little more fire to the playing field on game day.
