THREE TEAM TRADE: Chargers Get the 3rd Pick, Jaguars get the Jets pick and Chargers pick, Jets get Phillip Rivers and give up later picks

Oregon. Marcus Mariota. 3. player. 13.
Woah! What? This trade to me seems like it makes the most sense. The Chargers have the most leverage in any trade scenario because Philip Rivers is a proven franchise quarterback. I have them trading with Jacksonville and taking Marcus Mariota in a 3-team trade where the Jets acquire Philip Rivers and the Jaguars get both the 6th and 17th overall pick.

This trade came out of left field, right? Well, let’s think of it this way. If Tennessee decides to not take Mariota then this whole trade scenario that’s been looming for months gets completely messed up. Jacksonville in my mind needs more than one player so collecting picks should be their main goal.

The Jets on the other hand would acquire Philip Rivers and probably give up a couple of later picks to either Jacksonville or San Diego. This would make the Jets instant Super Bowl contenders, allow Mike McCoy to mold Marcus Mariota, and give Jacksonville a chance to add a bevy of impactful players to fill out their roster. Win. Win. Win.
. Quarterback
