2. OBJ (Captain—Team Rice)

As well as the Giants wideout fares in his adopted roster, he performed even more substantially as the glorified general manager who helped assemble it. It’s not exactly LeBron James territory, but Beckham Jr.’s still invited to the South Beach galas.

Aside from the aforementioned reunions with Manning and Landry, the snubbing of co-captain Aaron Donald proved to be the subtly glaring development of the night for invested Giants fans.

The one other St. Louis Rams player among the draft pool was running back and rookie phenom Todd Gurley, and Donald most assuredly vouched for his teammate’s services. However, when the seventh round came along and it was time for Rice to choose their starting tailback, he opted for NFL-leading rusher Adrian Peterson, allowing Gurley to be snatched by Irvin with the subsequent pick.

It became evident which captain warranted Chief Captain status in the legend’s eyes and ears, and it wasn’t the less-than-glorified defensive tackle. At least Johnny Hekker is punting behind your back, Donald.

It’s hard to deny OBJ—whose wallet’s too small for his fifties and diamond shoes are too tight—winning the entire draft on Thursday…oh how bafflingly we all forgot the quarterback’s unwavering authority in this relationship.
