In FanSided’s first mock draft featuring picks from each of the network’s 31 team sites (Patriots don’t have a first round pick), GMenHQ selected Lawson.

Chris Burke of Sports Illustrated called Lawson, “a force“. Fitting since the release of Star Wars Episode VII, the Giants needs a force to awaken their pass rush.

In mid-December, ESPN’s Todd McShay had the Giants snagging Lawson, and according to Big Blue View, Pro Football Focus said, “Lawson was excellent in limited time in 2014 (+16.0 on 329 snaps) and broke out this year with a +20.6 pass-rush grade and +16.7 mark against the run.”
