New York Giants Free Agency 2016: Offensive Targets At Each Position
By Mike Luca
Tight End: Andrew Quarless
Another facet of New York’s offense better off than people realize, there isn’t as much urgency to break bank for Dwayne Allen or unleash the farm for Martellus Bennett (unless a super-duper offense is what’s truly craved by upper management).
The breakout youth of Will Tye and Jerome Cunningham is excitedly paying dividends and Larry Donnell is assured a role in 2016 (seeing as he was just fully cleared to play again) thanks to last Thursday’s tender.

All that’s missing a veteran presence and blocking threat, or a Daniel Fells expectedly more productive than Daniel Fells.
Quarless’ name jumps out largely due to Green Bay Packers roots. McAdoo coached Quarless from 2010-13, and as far as harboring player relations is concerned, the off-field concerns can be responsibly nurtured by rekindled mentorship a la Odell Beckham Jr. and Adam Henry.
If the likes of Marcedes Lewis or Ben Watson weren’t locked up by now, they’d be reputable first choices. Otherwise, so long as Quarless can remain a physically abled body in the Giants’ TE rotation, this fit plays out most seamlessly.
