Drafted by the New York Giants in the 5th round (136th overall) of the 2004 NFL Draft, one pick after the Arizona Cardinals selected Oklahoma State defensive end Antonio Smith and one pick before the Jacksonville Jaguars picked Louisiana Tech kicker Josh Scobee.

In 13 games at Tennessee, Gibril had three interceptions, which was good enough for 10th in the SEC. Wilson was also Second-team All-SEC in 2003.

He also forced six fumbles, recovered three, and had six sacks in addition to 360 combined tackles. In 2006, he had another pair of picks, good enough for a seven-way tie for most on the team. His 10 passes defended were second most behind Corey Webster and his 100 combined tackles was tied for second most with Will Demps, behind Antonio Pierce.

Wilson’s last season as a member of Big Blue saw him co-lead the team in interceptions with Sam Madison at four apiece, and he led the team in solo tackles.
