Bolin was also drafted by the Dallas Texans in the 14th round (107th overall) of the 1962 AFL Draft, but opted for Big Blue.
In six seasons with the G-Men, Bolin played 77 games. In Bolin’s best season, 1963, the Giants went 11-3, finishing first in the NFL East. That ’63 Giants offense ranked first in the league in points scored, total yards, first downs, and passing touchdowns. That unit, which featured Pro Bowlers Y.A. Tittle, Frank Gifford, and Del Shofner, was top 5 in passing.
Bolin’s next two best seasons were 1965 and 1966. In ’65, the Giants finished second in the East with a 7-7 record, but the following year they finished 8th in the East with a 1-12-1 record thanks to one of the worst defenses in franchise history.
