Allen has drawn comparisons with Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, and some draft analysts project him to be the next great non-Power Five quarterback to enter the NFL.

While Allen doesn’t come from the FCS like Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz or Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, he did spend his collegiate career in the lesser watched Mountain West Conference. Wyoming’s 6-foot-5, 233-pound quarterback was unable to live up to expectations in his junior season and missed the program’s final two regular season games with a shoulder injury.

Allen plans to play in the Idaho Potato Bowl on Dec. 22 if “100 percent” healthy and could easily end up being the highest riser by the end of the draft evaluation process. After throwing 28 touchdowns to 15 interceptions in his sophomore season, the Cowboys quarterback took a step backwards, throwing 13 touchdowns to six interceptions.

Miller lists Allen as the third best quarterback in this year’s class and writes that he has the best arm and best potential out of the 2018 quarterback crop.
