5 takeaways from New York Giants’ Week 4 loss

No. 1 – Big Blue’s tough schedule doesn’t let up
Sunday’s game against the Saints was one of the best opportunities for the Giants offense to break out. Clearly, they didn’t.
New Orleans is a good team, and the Giants defense did show plenty of promise for three quarters. At the same time, the G-Men are still 1-3 and their schedule does not get any easier over the next four weeks.
The Giants face the Carolina Panthers in Week 5, and then have a divisional meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football. Both of their defenses rank in the top 10 in terms of points allowed.
The Giants then play the Atlanta Falcons and Washington Redskins before their bye in Week 9. No massive changes are expected in the coming weeks as Shurmur reiterated in the team’s postgame press conference.
"“No. We need to get better. What does that mean, massive changes? We need to get better.”"
It remains to be seen how the Giants plan to get better. After another loss on Sunday, the Giants’ plan to revamp their roster to win-now this offseason becomes more and more questionable.
The G-Men will likely need to win three of their next four games to remain in contention in the division, however, given their schedule and their play so far this season, it’s hard to imagine that happening.
